4 Years Anniversary for Creative Living Care

Today marks the 4 year anniversary for Creative Living Care.

Creative Living Care was created by Matt and Kris out of frustration (as frontline practitioners) in the lack of quality and child focused/centred leaving care placements across England. Often, providers were run and/or owned by those with little or no experience of working with children and young people who access Children Social Care services, such as children in care. This often resulted in numerous placement moves and breakdowns and poor provisions for children and young people.

Brief history

Creative Living Care was registered on the 10th October 2019. In November of that year we were fortunate enough to offer accommodation and support for two young people based in North West England. At the time, we had five staff members, including Matt and Kris who both covered 24/7 on call. Whilst they admit this was a challenging time (and long hours), they openly admit that they wouldn’t change a thing; often stating that they are frontline practitioners first and are passionate about supporting children and young people in care! In June 2020, they were successful in their tender application to become a preferred provided as part of Placements North West, which operates as a Local Authority consortium (25 LAs) for leaving care placements.

Where we are now

Today, Creative Living Care accommodates and support a large number of children and young people across England and Wales and they employ over 55 staff. They have offices in the North West of England, South West of England and West Wales. In June they opened their first Children’s Home based in Kirkham (Lancashire), which is fully Ofsted Registered. In October Creative Living Care’s Supported Accommodation Service for Leaving Care was officially registered by Ofsted. As most will know, all Supported Accommodation Services for Children and Young People in England are required to be fully registered by Ofsted by the 28th October 2023 (inclusive), if they wish to continue operating.

Future aspirations

Creative Living Care aim to open a second Children’s Home in the North West of England within the next 12 months or so. In addition, they will be investing in their Supported Accommodation Service by purchasing more suitable properties for young people leaving care.

Matt and Kris would like to take this opportunity to thank all frontline practitioners and managers for their fantastic dedication, support and commitment in helping children and young people in care and leaving care. Their passion and enthusiasm is contagious and Creative Living Care are fortunate to have so many amazing and caring people!
